An Amazing Turnout, Gratitude Abounds!

The Under Our Skin showing at the Mason library was a massive success, with over 40 attendees, including a local Lyme-Literate doctor. The Q & A that followed the film also went very well, with many attendees remaining afterward to discuss both what they saw in the film as well as Lyme Disease in general.

First off, I would like to thank the Empire State Lyme Disease Association for their support through the planning for this event, including providing the legal rights to show the film to the public. In particular I would like to thank Eva Haughie, you made this event possible, without your help none of this could have happened.

I would also like to thank the Mason Library for allowing this event to held in their building and for being so understanding about L.A.B.'s needs when it came to advertising and setting up for the event. I would especially like to thank Dawn Barbieri for all her hard work on this project as well as for her understanding and compassion throughout.

Thanks are also in order for Karla Letohnen, a member of L.A.B. and fellow organizer of group activities, who spent a considerable amount of time and energy spreading the word about this event, all the while dealing with her own busy family life. Karla, I would also like to thank you for you generous donation of educational materials, your kindness will not soon be forgotten. Sharon Hawkes, director of Lenox Library, is also deserving of thanks, for volunteering to help answers questions following the film and for her continued Lyme advocacy work in the Berkshires.

Thanks are in need for Deb Alecson as well, organizer of Ticked Off in the Berkshires! for her continued support of Lyme advocacy throughout the Berkshires and for her donation of educational materials to L.A.B. for use at the film screening and for future events.

I would also like to thank Open Eye Pictures for their generous donation of brochures, postcards and bumper stickers. Regan, thank you so much, the materials you sent shall go to good use.

Finally, I would like to thank all of the participants in the making and distribution of Under Our Skin. Under Our Skin is changing lives and giving an untold amount of individuals hope for a better future. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Sincerely,
Kenneth Mercure
Lyme Alliance of the Berkshires
