The Lyme Alliance of the Berkshires will be hosting our monthly tick-borne disease awareness meeting on Tuesday, August 9th, 2016 starting at 6 PM at the Berkshire Athenaeum at 1 Wendell Avenue in Pittsfield, MA. The meeting will take place in the ground floor auditorium. Our topic this month will be Lab Testing and the Science of Lyme Disease with guest speaker Robert Giguere of IGeneX Labs. The meeting will begin with a presentation by Robert that breaks down the complicated science behind Lyme disease and its related infections into an understandable form. He will also be discussing how the testing works, its flaws and how to understand your test results. Following the presentation, the meeting will transition to open discussion. Attendees are encouraged to bring a list of questions. It is not necessary for you to be ill with a tick-borne infection to benefit! Anyone can get Lyme disease and its related infections, no one is without risk. The event is free to the public! All attendees will receive a free informational booklet and tick removal kit!
